How to Cope in the ER

If there was a wanted Ad for my Job it would read:
"Nurse needed: Caring and compasionate. Must be able to take verbal abuse of any kind from clients. Patient advocate. Must be able to deal with vomit, wounds, blood, and feces and pretend it doesn't affect you."
Well... it doesn't happen that much, but it's kinda' like that.
Regardless of the abuse, Nursing is rewarding. I know it is a word that lots of nurses use, but I go home feeling, well, not rewarded, but satisfied that I helped at least some one feel better that day. You can do that in any kind of profession, so even though you didn't have to defibrillate someone, or give a Morphine injection, the point is the same--Make someone feel better that day--

P.S: Check out the cool Calcaneus fracture. Ouch!

Love is...

WHAT IS LOVE?

THE saying goes that "the Greeks had a word for it." And that seems to be true when it comes to the subject of love, for the Greeks had, not one but, four words to express the idea of love as viewed from different angles: éros, storgé, philía and agápe. This is reasonable, for love is a very complex quality, and you only need pause here and try to define it for yourself in order to be convinced that this is so. What, really, is love? Is it just a feeling, an impulse?

Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up,  does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury.  It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth.  It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.(1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
